COVID-19 Meal Kit Relief Program

Status: Support Needed for preventative education training and meal relief kits.

Fast Fact: With schools closed for social distancing preventative measures, children and families are in need of additional food support.

This is "little Sarah" one of the students at the New Life Preschool. She lives with her grandmother and siblings. Thanks to your support, the family received some of the very first meal relief kits and soap that were distributed by our local ministry partners in late March. We are so grateful for your support and are working on a plan to provide Covid-19 preventative education training and additional supplies for little Sarah's family and others in the community.

Bible Ministry Outreach

Status: Support Needed

Fast Fact: 80% of Ugandans are Christians but very few own a Bible.

Her name is Jajja (Grandmother) Jane. Someone had given her an old Bible that did not have the books of Genesis, Exodus, Jude or Revelation. She was so happy to have been blessed with a new Bible in her language. Since our Bible Ministry Outreach began in November 2017,  over 250 English, Luganda, Kinyarwanda, Lusoga and Kiswahili Bibles have been shared and more than 35 Ugandans have joined the family of Christ.

Clean Water Well for Jingo Village

Status: FULLY FUNDED AND NEW WELL DRILLED!

Fast Fact: 61% of Ugandans do not have access to safe drinking water

The current water hole was built over 50 years ago and serves over 1000 families in Jingo Village, Uganda. Sadly, the water is unclean, often has an unpleasant odor and is believed to make children ill. Thank you for helping us provide a new well, ventilated pit latrine and wash facility in Summer 2019.

Preschool for Jingo Village

Status: Funding needed ($2500) for Top Class structure and 21 child proof, preloaded E-readers ($1500). Funding Complete for Baby and Middle classrooms.

Fast Fact: Uganda falls in the lowest category of human development on the Health Development Index ranking 162 out of 189 countries with 57 percent of the population living in poverty in terms of health, education and standard of living.

Major challenges experienced in the community are the lack of funds for school fees and the long distance (3.6 miles) required for children to walk to existing schools such as the closest one shown in the picture. Our 2020 Mission from God is to partner with the community to build and implement a self-sustaining community pre-primary school:

  • Where girls have the same opportunities as boys;

  • Where no student is excluded for lack of funds;

  • Where no student is discriminated against on the basis of age, color, citizenship, disability, disabled veteran status, gender, race, religion, national origin, marital status, sexual  orientation, military service or status;

  • Which prepares students for academic success in secondary level education or a life skills training program;

  • Which has the facilities, equipment, tools and supplies needed to teach students practical, age appropriate agricultural and business skills.

Our 2020 Mission is a GOD sized goal!  "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26

Sewing Ministry PILOT Program for Women in Mpigi District

Status: Funding Commitment MET October 2019! Project began January 2020. We are now seeking support in the amount of $600 to provide each of the women a sewing machine upon graduation from the program in August!

Fast Fact: Providing unemployed women sewing skills, empowers them and provides a livelihood to support their families.

The objective of this project is to provide sewing training to rural, unemployed women so they can help support their families and pay school fees for their children. We need $500 in financial assistance to pay a teacher, buy fabrics and 3 manual sewing machines. The pilot project period will be six months to one year and if successful will be expanded to other communities.

Gifted Student Sponsorship

Status: Individual and Group Sponsors Needed

Fast Fact:  One in every eight (14%) children aged 6 to 12 is not in primary school and one in every four (25%) of children aged 13 to 18 is not in secondary (high) school in Uganda.

We got to know these beautiful children during our three-day dental and vision clinic in Jingo Village. They hung out at the vision clinic and visited with us all day (and even found our bag of broken glasses) because they are unable to afford school fees. If you would like to sponsor the school fees for one of the children or contribute to the general sponsorship fund, please send us a message or donate through our Gifted Student Sponsorship page.

Piggery and Farming PILOT Program for Children in Jingo Village

Status: Support Needed

Fast Fact: Many older children were unable to continue for secondary education and are desperately in need of skills training programs.

The objective of this project is to set up agricultural training programs for older children in Mityana District. There are very few affordable vocational programs available for these children. These boys and girls are unskilled and often illiterate; live in conditions of extreme poverty without any supervision or guidance; and vulnerable to many aspects of social poverty. By providing them an alternative to the streets, we hope to provide self-sustaining vocational skills, decrease the delinquency rate, while increasing self-esteem, sense of responsibility and discipline. To become a founding sponsor, please make a donation by clicking on our website donate button and typing Piggery Project in the comment box, or through our Facebook donate link.

Playground Equipment for Schools

Status: Support Needed

Fast Fact:  Adding playground equipment increases school attendance by 10%.

In July, 2018, we installed a swing set, monkey bars and climbing tower for Empowered Leaders Academy in Luweero District, Uganda. In 2019, we helped develop a soccer field (futball pitch) for community use in Mityana District. The project has been such a success that we would love to install more equipment. To help provide playground equipment for children in poor village or slum schools in Uganda, please make a donation by clicking on our website donate button and typing Playground in the comment box, or through our Facebook donate link.
