Stephen lives in Mityana District with his father, mother and siblings. His father is a peasant farmer who works to grow food for his family. His mother is a teacher at the New Life Education Center. Stephen enjoys singing at church and to listen to stories.

Stephen's favorite subjects in school are science and social studies. He has missed a lot of school because he was unable to pay school fees. He says he is sad when he has to stay home and his friends get to attend school. Because of his high academic performance and test results, he was enrolled in our "group sponsorship" program in 2023. This is a short term program for up to 4 children who are most in need and have high academic scores. The goal is to enroll them for up to one year until with hopes that a sponsor will be found so he can enroll in primary 6 so he can attend boarding school.

Florence lives in Jingo Village with her mother and four brothers and sisters. Her father passed in late 2019 which caused great hardship on the family and prevented the children from enrolling in school in 2020.

When Florence was able to attend school, she performed very well and completed S4, which is a great accomplishment for girls in the village. She also performed well on the exams upon completing the first level (Ordinary level) of secondary school and was promoted to advance to the second level. She dreams of becoming a teacher and has chosen to attend teacher training school. Because of her outstanding performance, in May 2021 we enrolled her in teacher training school for one term and are praying to find a sponsor so she can complete her education.
