Completed Projects
Clean Water Well for Jingo Village
For years, families in Jjingo relied on a decades-old water hole that served over a thousand households but provided dirty, foul-smelling water that many believed was making their children sick. In 2019, thanks to generous support, a brand new clean water well was drilled for the village along with a ventilated pit latrine and wash facility.
This project replaced unsafe water with a reliable, clean source that families can use every day, giving the community a healthier and more dignified way to collect water and care for basic sanitation needs.

Preschool for Jingo Village
In 2020, Live in Light raised the funds to build a primary school in Jingo Village so young children would no longer have to make the 3.6-mile walk to distant schools or miss out on education because their families could not afford the fees. The school was built and has had students ever since.
Today, a majority of our sponsored children attend this preschool (called New Life Preschool), and as enrollment has grown, a new P5 classroom was recently added for the older students.
The school provides a nearby place for children to learn, be welcomed regardless of their family’s financial situation, and gain the foundation they need for future education and practical life skills.
What started as a big goal in 2020 is now a fully functioning preschool serving the children of Jingo Village every single day.

Soccer Sports Ministry in Banda Slum
Through the generosity of Live in Light supporters, more than fifty pairs of cleats, along with jerseys, balls, and other equipment, were provided to launch a soccer ministry in the Banda slum area of Kampala. These donations helped give children a safe and encouraging outlet through sports, teamwork, and mentorship. Additional cleats and equipment will continue to make a meaningful difference for the kids who take part.
Heading 1
Chicken Coop
This project focuses on hands-on farming training for older children and young people in Jingo Village who are unable to continue to secondary school. Through small-scale agriculture, including raising chickens and tending crops, participants learn practical skills they can use to earn income and help support their families. With very few affordable vocational options available, this effort gives local youth a safe, structured place to learn responsibility, animal care, and everyday farming skills. The goal is to equip the people of Jingo with real, usable knowledge that can grow into self-sustaining opportunities and a more stable future.

Amazing Grace Church
Fundraisers and donations through Live in Light helped build and roof the Amazing Grace Church in Jingo. This church is where many of our students attend and gather each week, and the completed building has provided a safe, permanent place for worship and community activities since 2018.

COVID-19 Meal Kit Relief Program
When schools shut down during COVID, a lot of families in Jingo village suddenly lost a dependable source of daily meals. With donations from supporters, our local partners were able to put together and hand out meal kits and soap to families who needed help the most.
One of those families was Sarah’s. She lives with her grandmother and siblings, and they received some of the very first kits that went out in the village. Along with the food and supplies, families were also given simple, practical guidance on how to prevent the spread of COVID so they could better protect themselves during that time.
