How do I send correspondence to my sponsored student?
To streamline sponsor correspondence, sponsors may write an email to their sponsored student by submitting a letter through our website form or by emailing info@liveinlightministries.org. Please include the student’s name in the subject line and your full name in the email signature.
Your message will be forwarded to our team in Uganda, where it will be printed and delivered to your sponsored student.
If you prefer to send a handwritten letter, you may scan and email it for printing and delivery.
Because students work with teachers and volunteers to compose their responses, replies from your student will be handwritten and then emailed back to you.
Can I send gifts to my sponsored student?
While not required, sponsors are welcome to give special gifts to celebrate meaningful occasions such as birthdays, graduations, Christmas, or Easter.
Due to the high cost of international shipping and the unreliability of postal delivery in Africa, sending physical gifts by mail is not economically sustainable. Instead, Live in Light offers the option to sponsor gifts that are purchased locally in Africa and delivered directly to students.
A list of available gift options and associated costs is available upon request. If you are interested in making a gift donation for your sponsored student, please contact us or email info@liveinlightministries.org. We are happy to help identify appropriate gift options.

Can I visit my sponsored student?
Sponsors are welcome and encouraged to visit their sponsored students in Uganda. Live in Light Ministries hosts mission trips each year, during which special visits between sponsors and students can be arranged.
With sufficient advance notice, we are also happy to assist in coordinating a visit for sponsors who plan to travel to Uganda outside of a Live in Light mission trip.
